Nancy Findeisen is with Hands On Sacramento. The non-profit group helps connect volunteers with projects. Findeisen says this week, more than 1,800 people will be painting, landscaping and beautifying the region’s communities.
Nancy Findeisen is with Hands On Sacramento. The non-profit group helps connect volunteers with projects. Findeisen says this week, more than 1,800 people will be painting, landscaping and beautifying the region’s communities.
Findeisen: “We see this as a time for people to really reflect on Dr. King’s dream and his comment that everyone can give, everyone can serve.”
While some volunteer, others are marching through town.
Leong: “And we’re reminding people that there will be some traffic congestion caused by the march.”
That’s Sergeant Norm Leong with the Sacramento Police Department. He also says the march will end with an outdoor rally. That’s why the intersection of J at 13th Street will be closed from 10:30 am to 1 pm today.
