The city asked developers to submit projects for its parcels on the 700 and 800 blocks of K Street, which is currently a pedestrian mall but could be opened to vehicles in the future. The four groups include Rubicon Partners, which developed the Citizen Hotel, and David S. Taylor Interests in connection with the CIM Group.

CIM and David S. Taylor have already developed the Cosmopolitan building on K Street. David S. Taylor owns the U.S. Bank Tower and Sheraton hotel, and both CIM and David S. Taylor are connected to the downtown arena proposal.

D&S Development, which has numerous infill projects including one at 14th and R streets, and Bridge Housing, an affordable housing developer from San Francisco, also have submitted plans. Bridge Housing’s plan includes Saca Development, which had the Towers Project on Capitol Mall that failed to move forward two years ago.

A city committee will review the projects March 15, and more details will follow soon after.
