K St. Redevelopment/ Brilliant Earth/ Ozzie/ Sound Advice

K Street Redevelopment The long-contemplated redevelopment of K Street in downtown Sacramento is closer to becoming a reality. From four contending firms, a city advisory board has recommended two developers to re-do two blocks of K street between 7th and 9th streets and the city council will be discussing the options at next Tuesday's council meeting. Today on Insight, we'll talk with one of the developers about their plan. Bay Miry is a principal in D&S Development, which is perhaps best known for its popular remodel of a block of R street between 14th and 15th streets.

"Brilliant Earth" A new exhibit opening this weekend at Capital Public Radio features the sculpted work of foothills artists Deanna Marsh and Judi Stickney. Their amazing rock work, glass sculptures and woven tapestries evoke the visions and processes of the Sierra. You'll meet the artists and hear about their work.

A Second Saturday Artist Reception for "Brilliant Earth" is from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, July 10th at Capital Public Radio, 7055 Folsom Blvd., Sacramento. Information: (916) 278-8900.

Ozzie Returns Ozzie was a rock band way back in the late 70's that included three members of dpinky and The PTCollective. SS Records has just released a two record retrospective set of vintage Ozzie music called "The Parabolic Rock."

A release party for "The Parabolic Rock" from 8 to 11 p.m. Saturday, July 10th at The Ooley Theatre, 2007 28th St., Sacramento. Information: (916) 452-1764.
