Hoffman-Blank: “From what the judge said today, they cannot proceed with their plan as it is. It’s the status quo right now in terms of services, which means the clients will continue where they are right now.”
The federal suit was filed by disability-rights advocates. They say transferring mental health patients to county clinics would cause “irreparable harm.”
The county’s director of Health and Human Services says officials will find a way to provide the required mental health services – but the ruling could lead to cuts in other programs.
