Virtual School/Listener Emails/Deadly Women/Next Food Star

Virtual School Elk Grove Unified is opening a virtual school, run by a national company called K12, in an effort to get more home-school students to participate in Elk Grove’s program. The first day of school for Elk Grove is today, and Sacramento City Unified School District has also created a task force to study whether it's worth it for them to do, too. Today on Insight, we'll talk with founder and CEO of K12, as well as Elk Grove's Director of Curriculum and Professional Learning about it.

Listener Emails We hear from listeners about topics recently featured on Insight.

Deadly Women A chapter of "Death In California - The Freakish, Bizarre and Just Curious Ways People Die in the Golden State," is going to be on an episode of the "Deadly Women" on the Investigation Discovery Channel on Thursday. Author David Kulczyk, who resides in Sacramento, had an Australian film crew over to his home in February to film as he narrated the story of "The Duchess." We'll talk with him about it.

Next Food Network YouTube Star A Sacramento chef is a contestant in "The Next Food Network Star Youtube Challenge." Chefs had to upload cooking demonstrations and the best ones moved on for public voting, which ends today.
