Weekend weather helped crews corral the fire…burning about 30-miles north of Grass Valley.
"Cooler temperatures, higher relative humidity and then there was some rain."
Leigh Sevy is with the U.S. Forest Service. She says the area is still damp from the weekend rain…and other sources of moisture.
"We've actually used a lot of helicopters and aircraft. They're used to drop water either on hotspots or to slow down the fire spread along the line."]
The fire has burned about two-square-miles of steep terrain near the Bullards Bar Reservoir in the Tahoe National Forest and the Plumas National Forest.
Evacuations have been lifted for about 30 homes in the area.
