Democratic and Republican leaders travelled to Los Angeles to meet with Governor Schwarzenegger to discuss the state's budget this week. The governor's press secretary, Aaron McLear, says they have something to show for their hours of private meetings.

"They met about six hours on Thursday, about four hours on Wednesday and that work netted a tentative agreement so hopefully that holds true and Monday they'll have a final agreement and we can move past this.

The governor had been sick, which is why the meetings took place in Los Angeles. McLear says the members of the so-called "Big 5" will be working though the weekend, and are expected back in Sacramento next week to finalize their budget plan.

Despite the progress, this year's Budget will still be the latest in state history.
