New American River Trail The American River Conservancy will open the new 25-mile multi-recreational South Fork American River Trail tomorrow. We talk with the executive director of the conservancy about how the trail came to be and to the Bureau of Land Management about how it will be operated.
"Final Flight" Author Peter Stekel is coming to Sacramento Friday and Saturday in support of his new book "Final Flight." "Final Flight" tells the story of four WWII Airmen who disappeared while on a routine training mission near the High Sierra. One of the airmen's bodies was discovered by climbers in 2005 and Stekel discovered a second body in 2007 when he hiked to the scene of the crash to do research on his book. We'll talk with him about it.
Italian Film Festival The inagural Modern Italian Film Festival is Friday and Saturday at Fremont Park in Sacramento. It features contemporary Italian films, shorts and commercials, along with a benefit for the Doc School. We'll talk with the festival director about it.
