Sandy Robbins is at the Sacramento International Airport…sitting down and sipping coffee as she waits for her flight. She says traveling during the holidays can be stressful.

"But it's fun because I must say I've seen all these people who are traveling who are going to spend time with family and it's kind of a nice feeling."

Robbins is one of 11.6 million Californians expected to fly or drive over the holidays…an increase of 3% over last year.

"11.6 million people is a healthy number for travelers. The last two years we have had a decline in travelers because of the recession."

Cynthia Harris with AAA says she doesn't expect the stormy weather to put a dent in the auto club's estimated number of travelers.

"People are still going to manage to find a way to get to their holiday destinations regardless of what happens in the weather."

Harris says if you're driving to the ski resorts watch out for black ice on the roads.
