Upper Foothills Getting Snow

Jason Clapp is a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Sacramento. He says an area of low pressure centered off the Pacific Northwest coast is pushing heavy snow into the Sierra. And not just the higher elevations, but places like Placerville too...
"It's close to there now. We got snow on the ground around 3,100 feet. We're looking to get down into the upper foothills, possibly 2,500 feet. We're looking at this pattern, it might keep going until next week."
The storm briefly knocked out power to hundreds of customers in northern Nevada but utility officials say it should be all restored by now. The outage was caused by a tree branch that fell onto a power line.
