Today was the deadline for Kings' owners, the Maloof family, to file a request to relocate the team to Anaheim.  They now have until April 18.th

Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson says he's been trying to rally support from local business and government leaders to keep the Kings in Sacramento.

He says he's considering all possible options if the team leaves.  He even suggested he might be talking to other NBA teams.

"Read between the lines," Johnson said.  "We're not gonna be caught flat-footed.  We're not gonna take it lying down.  We need to know what all our options are.  And I think Sacramento deserves a team."

Johnsons says he's meeting with the Maloofs later in the week.  But he won't have much influence over their decision.

He says the team will probably go to Anaheim if they can get a good deal.
