Genevieve Shiroma A member of the SMUD Board of Directors was in Tokyo when the 9.0 magnitude earthquake struck. On the next Insight, we'll talk with Genevieve Shiroma about her experience, why she was there and any impressions she might have on Japan's earthquake preparations and response, and what SMUD or other energy companies could learn from it.

Stellar Science Student Selena Li, a local high school senior competed in the national science talent search. You'll hear how she developed a new therapeutic strategy for liver cancer.
 
Jewish Heritage in Eastern Europe A photo-narrative by Jennifer Norton that explores how Jewish life and the Holocaust have been remembered - and forgotten - in Eastern Europe is being shown this weekend in Sacramento. Jennifer Norton, a high school teacher in Amador County and a Museum Teacher Fellow with the US Holocaust Memorial Museum since 2005, traveled to Eastern Europe 65 years after the end of WWII to see what Jewish life was like. We'll talk with her about it.

"Jewish Heritage in Eastern Europe: Twenty years after the Fall of Communism"   is at Mosaic Law Congregation on Sunday, Mar 20 3:30p to 5:30 p.m.

Victoria Vox The folky ukulele-playing Victoria Vox peforms a benefit concert this weekend in memory of homeless advocate Greg Bunker, the former excecutive director of Francis House who died of a heart attack this past December.
 
Victoria Vox and her Band will perform tonight at the Guild Theater on 2828 35th Street (at Broadway). Doors open at 6:00 p.m. Showtime at 7:00 p.m.

Insight will not air on Monday due to a presentation of California Lectures featuring author Amy Bloom.
