Lessons from San Bruno We'll get an update on the fall-out from the deadly San Bruno pipeline explosion that killed eight people Sept. 9, 2010 in the San Francisco suburb. Associated Press reporter Garance Burke has been covering the story since it happened and will tell us the state of the CPUC investigation on the San Bruno explosion and what's happening with pipeline safety in California.

Kit Miyamoto A local structural engineer who specializes in high-performance earthquake engineering and mitigation, response and reconstruction recently returned from Japan. He was in Japan when the 9.0 quake struck. We'll talk with Kit Miyamoto, founder of Miyamoto International based in West Sacramento, about his experience and what California can learn from both tragedies.

Egyptian Uprising What can the United States and other Arab nations learn from the protests in Egypt? Sac State Professor Ayad Al-Qazzaz, who was educated at the University of Baghdad and UC Berkeley and teaches about Middle East societies and cultures, is speaking today in Sacramento on "Egyptian Uprising: Causes and Implications for the U.S., Arab Nations." We'll talk with him about it.
