Much of the language in the letters is identical…as if it were copied and pasted from one to the other.

In the letter to NBA Commissioner David Stern and the Board of Governors, Assistant City Manager John Dangberg uges the NBA to make the Maloofs' paying off of their 77 million dollar loan a requirement for the league's Board of Governors okaying the Kings move to Anaheim.

In the letter to the Maloofs, Dangberg asks the Kings majority owners to put in writing what they have recently said in the media and to Mayor Kevin Johnson…which is that they will absolutely pay off the loan.

Both letters again urge the Maloofs to reconsider a move to Anaheim.
