Insight: May Revise / Parrot Rescue / Blue Thumb / Faith Prince / Troy Conrad


May Revise Governor Brown just released his revised budget. Today on Insight, we'll talk about it with Capital Public Radio News' Capitol Bureau Chief Marianne Russ.

Parrot Rescue A local parrot rescue organization is fielding inquires and trying to get the word out about adoptions due to the recent release of a the Disney animated movie "Rio," which features a talking parrot who can't fly. Mickaboo Companion Bird Rescue has taken in a number of birds due to the recession and area foreclosures and movies like "Rio" tend to create buzz about the animals they feature.

Blue Thumb A representative from the Regional Water Authority will talk about the Blue Thumb campaign, which showcases residents of the Sacramento area who have earned their blue thumb by using water efficiently. The campaign highlights the simple acts they have from using a shut off nozzle on a hose, to planting low water use native plants and adjusting their water schedule.

Faith Prince Tony-award winning actress Faith Prince will help the The Sacramento Philharmonic Orchestra close out its season with a concert program called "Homegrown." You'll meet the Sacramento-based Broadway star and hear about the show.

Troy Conrad Comedian and writer Troy Conrad will be performing in Sacramento this week with a variety of other comedians. The one thing they all have in common? They're all atheists. We'll talk with Conrad about his work and why he developed a character called Comedy Jesus.
