At the Railroad Museum in Old Sacramento Mayor Johnson announced the formation of a coalition he's calling "Here We Build."

"That regional coalition will essentially have an environment that will have 60 members the co-chairs of the regional coalition will be Senator Darrel Steinberg and Senator Ted Gaines."

The coalition includes local political, business, and labor leaders.  West Sacramento Mayor Chris Cabaldon is a member of the coalition.  He wants owners of the Kings and other businesses to pledge their contributions before any decisions are made about how much public money will be needed.

"One of the things I've been cautioning folks in our region to not do is start by announcing here's what the public sector can do, here's every option of what we can do.  That's stupid negotiating."

The 60 member team will spend the next 94 days negotiating with each other, the owners of the Kings and the National Basketball Association to find an acceptable combination of public and private money to finance a new $387 million arena.
