"Consider the Conversation" Two filmmakers are bringing their documentary about end-of-life care tonight to Three Stages in Folsom. "Consider the Conversation" focues on longtime Placerville physician Dr. Martin Welsh who passed away in October from ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosos, often referred to as Lou Gehrig's Disease). He wrote an editorial "100 Things" on the subject of one's quality of life. We'll talk with filmmakers Mike Bernhagen, director of community engagement & care partner relations at Rainbow Hospice Care of Jefferson in Wisconsin, and Terry Kahlhusdahl, teacher and filmmaker in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin.
A screening of "Consider the Conversation" will be at 7 p.m. today at Three Stages at Folsom Lake College. A panel discussion with the filmmakers will follow the screening.
Andy Frank Honored A UC Davis engineering professor is being recognized today for his work as an electric-car pioneer at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Mich. Known as the father of the plug-in hybrid car, Frank picked up one of the first Chevy Volts in the United States on Dec. 21, 2010.
