Hudson comes from Riverside, where he has worked
in city and county government for about 20 years.
The Sacramento Bee reports he'll take a $25,000 a year cut in
base pay when he comes north.
Hudson says 100,000 lost jobs and a depressed housing market
in Sacramento County will put a lot of pressure on his
office. He says his first priority is to improve the way
businesses work with the County, drawing from his experience in
Riverside.
HUDSON: "We just completed a one-point-five billion dollar
capital improvement program called the Riverside Renaissance, an
effort to build 30 years worth of capital improvements in the
community in five years."
The Intelligent Community Forum recently named Riverside one
of the seven "smart cities" of the world for its economic and
social development.
