Rodriguez: "Our district is going to respond by doing additional trapping around a one mile radius of where the bird was found to see if there's any other mosquito-breeding sources or additional mosquito samples that test positive."

In about 8 out of 10 cases, people who have contracted West Nile show no symptoms.  But, in serious cases, people have suffered nausea, headaches, permanent neurological damage, even death. The district has a dead bird hotline.
