According to Northern California AAA, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded gasoline is now $3.95. That's up 17 cents from last month. Matt Skryja with AAA says demand in the state has actually been down, but there are other factors that affect prices.
SKRYJA:"Depending on what state you're in, how much refining capacity you have, how far away you are from a pipeline, how far away you are from a refinery, what are your transportation costs in your state, and a whole plethora of other things… those all go into the price."
The least expensive average price in Northern California can be found in Marysville. The most expensive in the nation is Eureka and South Lake Tahoe at $4.08.
