Capitol Chat Capital Public Radio's capitol reporter Ben Adler joins us for this week's edition of Capitol Chat.  Ben will bring sound bites and analysis to the discussion as we talk about the pile of bills still on Governor Jerry Brown's desk as the Sunday at midnight deadline approaches.
Sierra Snowpack and Climate Change The National Science Foundation gave UC Merced $2 million this week to design a revolutionary network of wireless sensors that can track snowpack in the Sierra Nevada Mountains northeast of Sacramento. We'll speak with the man in charge of massive project, Dr Roger Bales.  He is a professor of engineering at UC Merced and the Director of the Sierra Nevada Research Institute.
OccupySacramento A group of protestors have gathered in Cesar Chavez Plaza in downtown Sacramento to show support for Occupywallstreet, another protest currently happening in New York City. They're calling themselves OccupySacramento and we'll talk with some of the participants about their goals and the recent arrest of 20 protestors.
100th Anniversary of Women's Suffrage in California This Monday is the 100 year anniversary of women winning their right to vote in California.  We'll speak with a professor who teaches about the women's movement at American River College, Alana Jeydel.  She's also organizing Sacramento State's Women's Suffrage Centennial Celebration planned for this Tuesday.  Also joining us is Debbie Hollingsworth, an organizer of the California State Capitol Museum's "We Won the Vote! 100 Years of Equal Suffrage in California" exhibit.  Plus, Sacramento State Women and Politics Professor Kimberly Nalder will explain how women's suffrage has changed California politics.
