Twice a year, Elk Grove Police, Sacramento Police, Sacramento Sheriffs and other departments accept those old prescriptions that have been clogging up residents' medicine cabinets.  Chris Trim with Elk Grove Police says the department expects more drugs than ever to be donated.

TRIM: "We had approximately ten large containers, each about 40 pounds.  We're expecting, we've got 12 containers this time, so we're looking to add about 20-to-25 percent more."

The city of Sacramento's collection point has been moved to 1314 H Street because of the Occupy Sacramento protest.

Illicit drugs, intra-venous solutions, and needles will not be accepted.

Nationwide, 188 tons of old prescriptions were collected in the last drug drive in April.
