John Simmons with the Department of Transportation says the timing of road projects allows them to conduct a pothole sweep every November.
SIMMONS: "This is a period where normally the crews would be engaged in our heavier pavement projects like paving, base repairs, and pipe replacements. And this is a time where they can come together and act as a team to search for potholes that might not have normally discovered. They might be under a parked car or at a busy intersection or at a dead end road..
Simmons says they may find as many as 1500 potholes to fill during the November pothole campaign and fill them with about 400 cubic feet of asphalt mix.
If your least favorite pothole is not spray-painted white by the beginning of next week, the county urges you to go online.
