The city of Sacramento is still researching what its 16,000 parking spaces might be worth and how much of its parking operation should be sold.
Think Big Sacramento's Jeremiah Jackson says the city should demand any increased operating costs be absorbed by whoever enters into a public-private-parking partnership -- or "P4" -- with the city.
JACKSON: "We felt there should be a moratorium on rate increases for some period of time following, entering into any sort of P4 agreement. Rate increases should not be allowed without city council approval under any agreement."
Think Big has presented six recommendations to the city. They include retaining all current city parking employees and increasing neighborhood patrols near the arena. The city has a December 13th deadline to present its parking plan to the city council.
