Brass bands, women and men in uniform, and several hundred people cheering…this year's Veteran's Day Parade through Sacramento was a noisy "thank you" to many people who have been just itching to say, "you're welcome."
Candace Hamilton and Juanzelyn Wright were whooping it up on the corner of Capitol Mall and Ninth Street .
WRIGHT: "Well I'm Chaplain at Post 4647 in North Highlands of the Ladies' Auxilliary. And, so you know this is my heart. My father was also in the Korean War. He's a retired Master Sergeant in the Air Force. This means everything to me. I'm an Air Force Brat to my heart."
Walking past and smiling ear-to-ear was Vietnam Vet, Ted Adams.
ADAMS: "When we came home, we didn't get a welcome. People threw nasty stuff at us, called us names. So, yeah, it's an honor for us to be out here with our brothers and sisters, and also to see the public finally acknowledging our service."
Grand Marshall of the parade this year was retired Brigadier General Chuck Yeager.
