UC Davis Rally A rally was held yesterday on the UC Davis Quad in response to a pepper spraying incident that took place during peaceful protests on Friday. Capital Public Radio's Ben Adler was there and tells us who spoke and what they had to say.
 
Protests and Free Speech Police have been dispersing protesters more frequently as Occupy demonstrations gain in popularity.  These clashes sometimes raise questions about protesters' right to free speech and to assemble peacefully.  McGeorge law professor, Leslie Gielow Jacobs, answers some of our First Amendment questions.
 
The Science of Pepper Spray What exactly is pepper spray and how harmful is it? We'll talk with science reporter Deborah Blum about it.
 
Use of Force When is it appropriate for police officers to use force during protests? We'll talk with David Rose, a retired Sheriff's lieutenent and police practices expert from Auburn, about it.
 
News Network In this week's News Network we'll talk to Brian Hamilton, editor of Grass Valley and Nevada City's newspaper, "The Union." Hamilton will update us on a special tax for the Nevada County Consolidated Fire District that going to the ballot and we'll hear about how and why the Hospitality House, the area's homeless shelter, is getting a new home.

"Chaplin: A Life in Concert" A one-man musical tribute to the silent-film star Charlie Chaplin is being staged in Sacramento this weekend. We'll talk with multi-platinum singer-songwriter David Pomeranz about his show at the Crest Theatre Sunday.
