Sacramento Occupiers Urge Shoppers to "Buy Local"

Occupy Sacramento protestors took advantage of Black Friday activities today to spread the word about "shopping small."

About 35 protestors marched from Macy's in Downtown Plaza to Old Sacramento with a message for shoppers.

LANEY: "To inform them that we would prefer that they shop locally, and support the local economy, and not to use their credit cards which benefits the banks."

Sean Laney was one of the protestors. None were arrested at today's action.

Occupy Sacramento has an unlikely ally for the shopping local cause.

Credit card giant American Express is backing a nationwide push for Small Business Saturday.

The Occupy Sacramento movement says they're not working with American Express, and in fact they urge people not to use credit cards.

A number of downtown Sacramento businesses are participating tomorrow in Small Business Saturday and are advertising sales on Facebook.
