One site is in North Highlands. The other is near Loaves and Fishes in the Richard's Boulevard area. Steve Watters is Safe Ground's founder.
WATTERS: "We have some development funds already in a bank account. But, we will continue, as a matter of fact, we will accelerate starting in early January, fundraising efforts for development of the site and for continued operational expenses."
Watters says the group has been in talks with the county to understand the new housing permit process. A private landowner in North Highlands has offered to donate five acres for a project in the county. Watters expects to meet with City Councilman Steve Cohn within ten days to discuss a site in his district.
