Insight: Wipe Out Gene / Blind Boys of Alabama / Sacramento 100 / Sound Advice: Jazz

The Wipe Out Gene - In Tapachula, Mexico researchers are testing a genetically engineered strain of mosquitoes designed to wipe out disease-carrying native mosquitoes.  But there are no international regulations of genetically modified organisms, and experts worry scientists are being too quick to introduce GM insects into foreign countries with lax regulations, which may cause a worldwide backlash against this type of research.

The Blind Boys of Alabama We'll talk with some of the members of the legendary Grammy-winning gospel group, The Blind Boys of Alabama.  They are playing at the Mondavi Center in Davis this evening.  They will also join Daryl Hall for a very special 49th edition of "Live From Daryl's House"   premiering tonight as well.
