The county says leasing out the after-hours operations of three county parking lots could bring in about $3.5 million per year. In the preliminary negotiations between the county and city, $3 million would go to a new sports and entertainment complex…after $500,000 goes to the county parks budget.
Supervisor Phil Serna says it's a "win-win" proposition.
SERNA:"This is one way to not only fund an entertainment and sports complex, but actually develop a new, more-consistent revenue stream for other amenities including county parks and our American River Parkway."
