UC Davis administration is recommending a task
force review and revise campus policies. It is
recommending the school's police department adopt national
police-response standards.
One of two independent reviews on the November pepper-spraying
incident recommended policing changes not only at UC
Davis, but at UC schools.
It also recommended more training and better organization
among campus leaders and officers responding to a crisis.
The school says its emergency operations plan is being
updated.
The school is also calling on President Mark Yudolf
to review provisions of the Police Officers' Bill of
Rights. The Reynoso report criticized the
law for inhibiting independent public review of
police conduct.
