It's likely Sacramento's Southside Park pool will be open this summer. It would be the seventh pool to open despite City budget cuts.
The YMCA of Superior California would operate the pool.
City Councilman Rob Fong says he and the city have pledged up to $35,000.
FONG: "For the folks in District 4, this will be the only pool that's open for the summer, so it's really important."
Fong says the funding is still being worked out.
FOMG: "The City Manager and I have figured out that, between the general fund and my office, we're going to figure out how to close that gap."
It costs about $80,000 to run a city pool for the summer.
The YMCA will collect a little more than half of that in swim lesson and daily admittance fees.
