On Sunday Stockton police recorded three separate robberies within the span of just one hour in which gold chains were ripped off the victim's neck.
Witnesses were able to give a description of the suspects and their car which led to the arrest of two men.
Police spokesman Joe Silva says officers have investigated 77 gold chain robberies since March.
SILVA: "Our victims are walking down the street, in a park, and the suspects are targeting them because they are wearing their gold necklaces. The age range has been as young as 5 years old and the oldest has been in their 70's."
The robberies have occurred both during the day and night.
Police say the public should exercise caution and have their gold chains covered by their clothing.
