Spraying will start Friday for West Nile Virus in Placer County after three mosquitoes were found with the disease.

Birds and mosquitoes with West Nile Virus have been showing up earlier than normal all over the state.

Joel Buettner with Placer County Mosquito and Vector Control says three mosquitoes turned up in traps near Roseville and Loomis.  Pesticide for adult mosquitoes will be applied by truck in those areas.

BUETTNER: "Our hope is to limit the spread of the infected mosquitoes to smaller areas so we don't have to treat larger areas down the road."

Buettner says West Nile was once thought to affect mainly the very old, but health officers are seeing people of all ages affected by the virus.  West Nile may not show any symptoms or may cause death in a person infected.
