Mike Roberts of Foresthill lives just a quarter mile from where the Robbers fire still blazes. He's had to leave his home and is now staying with friends. But every day since the fire began, he's been coming to the Red Cross evacuation shelter to check the latest fire maps.
ROBERTS: "Emotionally, we've been on a rollercoaster, as far as fear, we've had our concerns but I do have confidence. We've been through a few incidents similar to this before, but we've never been evacuated."
Roberts says he's overwhelmed by the amount of support he's received and the amount of personnel involved in fighting the fire. Holly Sear was also evacuated. She just moved to the area in December.
SEAR: "It's not easy but you want to go home, you want to see your house, you want to make sure everything is okay. The fire is not that close so that's comforting."
The Red Cross says only a few people in the community are seeking shelter. Most are staying with friends or family.
