Computer Problem Brings DMV Field Offices to Halt

The DMV's Mike Marando says anyone who missed a deadline because of the outage won't get stuck with a higher bill.

Marando: "We recognize that customers do come in on the date that certain fees are due.  And if this event today, this outage today, prevented them from making a transaction, we'd like to hear from them, because we do work with them one-on-one on a case-by-case basis."

This is the DMV's second computer glitch in the last few months.  A four-day website crash in late June did not impact the field offices like Tuesday's outage did.  Marando says the two issues are not related.
