Reyna Schwartz with the Department of General Services says the new app allows people to get information directly to the correct department instead of waiting for a city staff member to figure out where to send a request for service, "It goes straight through to the service areas that need to receive those requests and that information."
The top two calls for service are usually trash or animal-related.
Gina Knepp with Animal Care Services says the new app could increase response time by 24-to-48 hours, "The animal care customers that are calling in -they get frustrated trying to report an animal issue having to be on hold - they don't have to do that anymore. Send it in and a work order gets created -immediately."
There is no such app for android phones, but the City hopes to have an android version soon
