News Network The start of the Republican National Convention has been delayed a day as Hurricane Isaac moves across the Gulf of Mexico towards the Southern states.  But, a good portion of the California delegation is in Tampa, Florida ready to represent the red side of their home blue state.  Sacramento Bee political reporter, Torey Van Oot, is at the convention following the California delegation and will explain what's happening.   Plus, the National Transportation Safety Board has determined the cause for a plane crash at the Reno Air Races last year that killed ten spectators and injured 70.  Reporter for the Reno Gazette-Journal, Martha Bellisle, was at the NTSB hearing Monday and can explain the board's findings in the fatal crash.

The voter registration gap means that these ethnic groups have proportionately less say in the electoral process compared to the general population.  The full report is available on the UC Davis California Civic Engagement Project website at http://regionalchange.ucdavis.edu/projects/california-civic-engagement-project-ccep.
