Some Benefits Still Not Reaching The Unemployed

Patty Pelfrey disagrees with EDD's assertion the State has caught up after a computer glitch delayed benefits earlier this week, "I have no money and I can't get a hold of anybody either at EDD or at Bank of America at the phone numbers that they tell you to call to find out when and/or/if my payment's gonna be credited."

She was laid off from her job in Los Angeles last year

Pelfrey says she received no notice from the EDD about the delay in payments.  The EDD is not emailing people about the problems, but is posting information on its website, Twitter and on Facebook.

That's how the department posted information Thursday about VISA 's problem with a nationwide system.  That problem affected the use of EDD Debit Cards and the Bank of America phone system.

EDD says that issue is also resolved, but Pelfrey says she still doesn't have any money.

Some disability benefit payments were also delayed earlier this week.

The California Technology Agency has not identified a cause for the State of California's system shut down.
