The Sacramento County Board of Supervisor s has revised this year's budget. It includes an additional $13.5 million.
In Home Services will receive $2.7 million more than it expected for the coming fiscal year.
Ann Edwards with County Services says lower personnel costs and more efficient government account for the newfound money, "We're pleased that there were savings, that departments had savings from last fiscal year that allowed us to do some program restorations. And, I think the biggest win for the Department of Health and Human Services was the restoration of the $375,000 that's going to the Senior and Adult Services Division."
Edwards says that money will be used to hire new case workers, which will in turn trigger $2 million in matching state and federal funds.
