AAA now has a way for seniors to see how their driving might be affected by the medications they are taking. 

The company's website has a place for people to enter their prescriptions or supplements and their possible effects.   

Cynthia Harris with AAA Northern California says a recent study shows only half of senior drivers ask how medications could affect them on the road, "Some medications alone may not affect your ability to drive.  But when you mix two or three and possibly with different food and supplements, this could cause some distraction behind the wheel."

Georgia Miles is a senior driver from Sacramento.  She says medications affect her much more now that she's older…even medications like ibuprofen, "All of a sudden, Wham! And you're just really knocked out by it.  And I think it's something people ought to know because it just sneaks up on you."

Triple-A says two-thirds of seniors take five medications or more.  

The site provides information on many medications that could affect your driving -not just the obvious drugs like muscle relaxants.   It also covers high blood pressure and anti-seizure medications.
