Prop 32 TV Ad Battle Begins

Prop 32 would ban corporate and union campaign contributions - and automatic paycheck deductions for political purposes.  That last provision could cripple labor's political muscle, and many analysts say that's what this fight is all about.  Here's the "Yes on 32" ad, funded by a conservative Super-PAC in Iowa:

Yes on 32 ad: "…deals cut in shadows and back rooms.  With contributions, big corporations and government unions control politicians.  It's killing California…"

And here's the "No on 32" ad paid for by labor unions:

No on 32 ad: "…the groups funding Prop 32 have exempted themselves. So those special interests will have free rein to give themselves more tax breaks while the middle class pays the price..."

Those won't be the only ads on California airwaves.  Several other proposition campaigns are starting theirs as well.
