The Greater Phoenix Economic Council says it will provide CEOs free airfare and accommodations to check out Arizona.

The group sites the tax increase from Proposition 30, the cap and trade program and cost of living in California as reasons companies should relocate or expand in Arizona.

Barry Broome, President of the Council, says they've had several California CEOs already express interest.

BROOME: "Our goal is get a dialogue with the CEO, bring the CEO into the Greater Phoenix market, and show them the value proposition of our market. And the conversation is going to start with the cost of doing business and tax policy."

Broome says they originally were making the offer to the first 50 interested executives, but they're expanded the offer to the first 100.

Broome says he's heard from CEOs who are beginning to question the value of operating in California.

The California Chamber of Commerce did not respond to the issue.
