News Network The Sacramento City Council has disbanded the commission that attracts national sporting events to the region after finding last year's World Master's Athletics Championship put the city in the hole $400,000.  We'll talk about this and other Sacramento region issues with Sacramento Bee Reporter Ryan Lillis and Sacramento Press Editor-in-Chief Jared Goyette.

Slow Drink Movement  While Sacramento's local beer culture is thriving, along with several farm-to-table concept restaurants and farmers markets, Oak Park resident Tim Clark is taking the artisan food culture one giant step further.  For the past 2 ½ years, Tim has been quietly working to promote the slow drink movement with his shop Brew Ferment Distill, a one-stop shop for Sacramentans who like to do their own beer brewing, winemaking, and cheese making.

Violin Notes Eleanore Hamilton is a 12 year old violin student who wrote a book/journal called "Violin Notes" in order to help other young violin students turn practice into fun.  She collaborated with adult musicians from across the state to assemble her "tips and tricks" for kids (she also illustrated the book!).

Music at Noon Anniversary Westminster Presbyterian Church celebrates the 10th anniversary of its popular Music at Noon concert series to the rich sounds of the Golden State Brass Quintet. We'll speak with the church's organist and Music at Noon program director, and two trumpeters from the Golden State Brass Quintet live in our studio today.
