Capitol Chat Lawmakers in Washington D.C. have about two weeks to steer the country away from the so-called fiscal cliff if they want to keep Americans' holiday spirit merry.  In this week's Capitol Chat, Capital Public Radio's National Reporter Matt Laslo joins us to explain how negotiations are going on Capitol Hill and what influence California's congressional delegation has on the debate to avoid the fiscal cliff.  We'll also talk about Republicans' plans to change their stance on immigration after they failed to draw support from Hispanics in the past election.

Visually Impaired Marathoners  Sacramento hosts one of the premier distance running events for runners who are blind and visually impaired. The first national marathon championship, bringing together the United States Association of Blind Athletes and the California International Marathon in Sacramento, was created five years ago--and the race is on again this weekend. Join us as we talk with race participants--two athletes and a guide.

Liar Some people consider a lie as much what we don't say as what we do. Playing now at Sacramento's Geery Theatre, "Liar" is a sneak peek into the private life of a married couple who have not adequately dealt with the loss of their own child--and the catalyst that helps them deal with it. The play offers an opportunity to talk about the things we put off until tomorrow, and how what we don't say affects our relationships. In our studio we'll talk with the producer and two actors, and listen to a brief excerpt from the show.

Be Brave Bold Robot Be Brave Bold Robot is described as 21st Century Existential Folk Rock--and alternately genre-defying. Music by this Sacramento band may be "nearly impossible to pigeonhole," but decide what you think after listening to bandmembers Dean, Catie, Matthew and Mike, live in studio today.
