Sacramento State University President Alexander
Gonzalez - Students of California State University, Sacramento are
heading back to school this week with a little more cash in their
pocket but no new classes to break the bottleneck slowing
their coursework. The passage of Proposition 30 has allowed
California Governor Jerry Brown to add $125 million to the CSU system's budget this year
and reinstate an $125 million that was cut last year. But
individual campuses like Sacramento State University are still
figuring out the best way to graduate students on time without
raising fees. Here to explain Sacramento State's plans to
solve this puzzle in the coming year is the university's president
Alexander
Gonzalez.
So You Want to Start a Winery? - One of
the largest gatherings of wine makers and grape growers, "The Unified
Wine and Grape Symposium," is coming to Sacramento
Tuesday. If you find yourself in a moment of meditation at
the symposium saying to yourself, "I'm in the wrong business,"
think again. Beth and Ira Rosenthal, owners of Uphill Vineyards, join us to explain the
difficulties of starting a winery. The Rosenthals are
preparing to bottle their first vintage in the coming weeks but
it's been a long "uphill" battle.
Sacramento Running Hall of Fame - The Sacramento Running
Association is starting a new tradition this weekend by
inducting an inaugural class of runners in the SRA Hall of
Fame.
