Brown's approval rating has never gotten out of the forties in his current term in office.  Now, as he rides the momentum of his Proposition 30 win last fall, the governor has the support of 57 percent of California voters.  Thirty-one percent disapprove.  In fact, going back to Field Polls during his previous two terms as governor, Brown's job approval is the highest it's been since 1977.

The more positive opinions from voters aren't just limited to the governor.  Californians are even warming up to the state legislature.  Its approval rating has nearly doubled from May of last year - from 19 percent to 36 percent.

Meantime, 55 percent of voters say Democratic legislative supermajorites are good for the state.  And for the first time in six years, more Californians say the state is moving in the right direction than the wrong one.
