There comes a moment in every freshman lawmaker's career when he or she must present their first bill. When that happens, the more senior lawmakers jump at the chance to offer a little hazing.

Republican Assemblyman Rocky Chavez got a taste of that while trying to present his first bill on the floor. Assembly members like Democrat Tom Ammiano lined up to rib Chavez.

"Is it true that you and Sly Stallone are the same person?" Ammiano asked. "I saw all your movies Sylvester Stallone."

"If you ask the question, who was first, Stallone or Rocky, Rocky was way before Stallone," Chavez replied.

The light hearted hazing is truly bi-partisan and even occasionally happens in the Senate if a person is brand new to the legislature.
