Patrick Celestin is the owner of Celestin’s restaurant. He was born and raised in Haiti. Three of Celestine’s relatives…an uncle and two aunts…died in the earthquake.

Celestin says customers have shown a lot of compassion in the past week.

“There’s been such an outpour of support and sympathy. People are donating in droves. Yes, we’ve had quite a big response and people are also coming in expressing their condolences for the family members that I’ve lost to the quake.”

Tonight's event is from 5 PM to 8 PM at Celestin’s restaurant…located near the corner of 18th and K Streets.

American Red Cross representatives are expected to be available to take donations and laptops will be set up to make on-line contributions to various relief groups.
