Research firm Clear Capital says Sacramento area home prices in February were up 6.6% from the same time last year. And spokesman Alex Villacorta says the last three months have seen positive gains as well.
“Sacramento returned to a 2.9% increase, quarter-over-quarter, for this latest time-frame. And that’s compared to a 0.0% change for the nation as a whole. So perhaps due to the other states that see a more dramatic slowdown in the winter, California in general has remained very strong through these last few months.”
Villacorta says Stockton’s hard-hit housing market also saw gains last month…a 5% quarter-over-quarter increase and a 2% increase in year-over-year home prices.
He says the price gains bode well for local housing markets as homebuyer activity starts to pick up heading into spring and summer.
